Actually, according to several sources I've talked to in both my club (IPMS Orange County) and in the National IPMS organization, my club is the only one currently bidding for the 2007 Nats. My IPMS chapter president is over there now to give a presentation to the IPMS leadership. They've already had our written proposal for a month now and have already had many questions asked and answered. We had a long brief at our last meeting on the 17th giving details of where we stand, and we were also shown our presentation that the IPMS National leaders will see.
Of course, that isn't to say that the other two chapters may be planning on putting in their bid, but as of yesterday we currently have the only bid in for it.
I won't say that we got it, but so far, we stand a very good chance of being the hosts. Still, stranger things have happened. My hope is that we get it. Even though I am not a National member and can't compete, I am so looking forward to working every day for it as a volunteer. (I'm not good enough to compete in the Big Leagues anyway!)
I will give out one small teaser from our proposal: It is planned to be held in the Hotel directly across the street from Disneyland. Those with families may have an idea of how well that will go over.....
