Some thoughts on the show...
Posted by stikpusher on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 5:28 PM

Hello all,

Well on Saturday afternoon, I loaded up my son and his friend and went down there since we live about 20 minutes away. My boy and his friend were both Boyscouts and in uniform so they got they complimentary admission. All I can say of all the kits I saw is WOW! Table after table filled with gorgeous builds! I certainly was inspired to build more and better. My son and his friend had a blast there, and were most impressed by the Junior Catagory entries. Both of them build kits as well and were awestruck that kids their age (10 and 11) could do such work. Then we went to the Vendors side. Best kit swap meet and model company exhibition I have ever seen. Let's just say I could have spent far more money than I did there. And to top it off, the MRC vendor let my son and his friend pick out any kit  they wanted, for free, from a selection of Italeri kits for them, just because they were Boy Scouts in uniform. What a great way to get the younger modelers to stay with the hobby. We all left the convention, after having spent a great few hours there. After looking at the other threads here, I'm sure I passed several of you by without knowing who you were. In any case, it was great seeing your work and talking with those of you (however anonymously) that I did run into there!
