Hey everybody...I'm ready to party!  Hey...where'd everybody go?  Oh, I get it.  Y'all are at your bench fondling a pair of scissors just waiting for the midnight hour to open up your kits and start cutting sprues.  Come to think of it, that's what I should be doing too!

BTW great start on the VLOG, guys.  Everyone be careful out there...there's sharp knives all over...

Tim, Friday (and Sunday) are my regular days off, so this start date worked out quite nicely for me.

You guys are gonna love building those D.VII kits. Every WnW model I've built has been a very rewarding experience. WWI aircraft in general and WnW in particular have gone a long way towards injecting a whole new level of enthusiasm for the hobby into me that had been on a bit of a decline (you have no idea how happy I was that this GB was not about WWII). They fit great, but the tolerances are tight (the thickness of paint layers can throw them off a bit), so just giving you a heads up on that.

I've been going through the instructions over and over again. It's been a long time since I've been this excited to build a model.

Ruddratt - Dude, did you take tomorrow off?

Glad to hear the "vlog" idea is going over well. We're excited to do it and hope it's both entertaining and informative. Plus, we're sure going to learn a ton from you guys, too.

Been watching the clock and checking out the instruction manual for the E.III (over & over again) - 6:35pm here - another 5 1/2 hrs and I'll be sitting at the bench! Big Smile

Ha! It ain't cheatin' to look, and that's all we were doing.

Anyone who hasn't seen one of these WNW kits, you really should take a gander. Beautifully done.

I think I've already lost the canopy of mine...

John and I went to the LHS together one time and then out for a frosty one afterwards. Promptly lost the canopy of my Sea Venom under the bar table.

Thanks, jeaton01. We hope that it adds something. Aaron and I just did a walk through our kits. A little pre-planning session.

Geez- downloaded that video and now I'm getting Viagra pop-ups all afternoon! Guess they know their market...

Very fun stuff.

I think I need (a) an avatar, (b) a leather flying helmet (Royal Navy style) and (c) a root beer "special".

Watchmann - I just cut my hair. It was down to my shoulders, if you can imagine that.

We have so many lil' smokeys you won't know what to do with yourself.

[Clinks his schooner of Cooper's Pale Ale against Tim's cup.]

Welcome, all! This should be a good time and a great chance to build a little, learn a lot, and have some fun.

Tim, are there any more of the little smokeys?

Nice.

I think everyone involved in the GB MUST grow a beard (and post WIP pics).

All right guys! Thanks to everyone for who has joined the group build. It's awesome that so many of you were interested in participating. It's also my hope that the rest of our Forum family takes an interest in the GB, and if nothing else, might be convinced to build a WWI plane or two for themselves.

So, without further ado, our surprise! (Forum members who are signed in should be able to see this just fine.)

By the way, even if you aren't part of the GB, feel free to hang out and chat.

Salut! [guzzles a very Irish coffee]
