Sad Passing.

I know this isn't modelling related, and i know it can raise some very strong views on either side, especially amongst us Brits. But it has just been announced that the former PM, Baroness Margaret Thatcher, has just passed away following a stroke.

I'm sure our US members may be more familiar with her as PM than most other PM's.

Ouch, I'd known she'd been sick for some time. I can't say how much it impressed me when she flew out for President Reagan's funeral even though her health wasn't that good at the time. Between them and Pope John Paul they made quite a team, sad to see her as the last member pass away at last.

I have to remember when a reporter asked her husband Denis who wore the pants in the family and he answered - I wear the pants, and I iron them as well.

The Iron Lady was a great woman and friend to the United States, R.I.P. Margaret Thatcher.  Sad

R.I.P. Margaret Thatcher indeed. Whatever her politics, as others have said she stood steadfast with Ronald Reagan and America during a very unsettled time where world events could have taken a very bad turn in very short order.

A great stateswoman; a sad loss for the free world as well as the UK.  She was truly an admirable world-class leader.

really disgusted with the images out of Britain which showed the socialist left rabble dancing

in the street at news of the Baroness's death.  Also the front page of some of the left wing newspapers

gleefully announcing the news.  dont these people have anything better to do ?  R.I.P. Maggie.

The odd thing is, most of those seemed to be in their late teens, so not even born when she stepped down. But thats the last i will say on the matter here.

theres ALOT more to it than that.

she made some very very unpopular descisions she destroyed trade unions (they probably needed it) she also ruined entire communities who were based almost solely on mining (it may well have been dying before she killed it though) the privatised all the energy companies and prices have rcketed ever since.

shes a very devisive pm im beggining to think she was the 1 who had the balls to make some real nasty policies and carry them out.

1 things for sure apart from churchill i dont know of any other polotician as brave and resolute as she was

Guys,

This thread has gone as far as it can without becoming (more) political. Let's wind it down.

Thanks,

Tim
