At this point, there will likely be interest only on 5 or ten year anniversaries, for example, expect some bigger notice next year which will be the 70th anniversary. Realistically, we can't expect news coverage of every historical event every year.

Taking a quick look at this site www.historyorb.com/.../events.php will give you an idea of how many things might be noted on any given day.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

D-Day Observance

Today, June 6, is the 69th anniversary, where the allies invaded Normandy beach in France to rid them of German occupasion.

Have any of you noticed how little media coverage there was of this historic event?

There was a D-Day movie on TMC this morning, but that's all I have seen.  The local news rag had nothing to say about it.

I hope there was other respectful  coverage that I missed seeing,

Computer, did we bring batteries?.....Computer?

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
