Those are some terrific shots, Dre! I heard Kahne went for the bump and run, but missed Kenseth on the last lap.

After reading about the Raider's game, I believe I just got "Heidied"!

Mississippivol, to refresh your memory of the night race... ( these are my own images, so no copyright issues here)

start of the race-

with 8 laps to go, Kenseth and Kahne lean on each other for the lead...

and finally after 500 laps, Kenseth wins and heads for victory lane.

Hey, Tojo72- What's the Heidi bowl?  I seem to have missed that reference.

The Heidi Game or Heidi Bowl was an American football game played on November 17, 1968. The home team, the Oakland Raiders, defeated the New York Jets, 43–32. The game is remembered for its exciting finish, as Oakland scored two touchdowns in the final minute to overcome a 32–29 New York lead. The Heidi Game obtained its name because the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) controversially broke away from the game with the Jets still winning to air the television film Heidi at 7 p.m. in the Eastern Time Zone.

I watched the Bristol race in NJ.  I think they went to commercial and came back with 15 or so...got to see the complete finish.

On the bench:  Tamyia Mosquito Mk. VI for the '44 group build.  Yes, still.

And how come the EBS wasn't activated on 9/11/01?  I believe that would certainly be a "qualifying emergency!"

Yes I do. It wasnt interrupted here, but the last dozen years or so we haven't gotten Raiders home games at all because they don't sell out. Finally that's no longer the case (they still don't sell out but are on cable), but they are a terrible team.

Later I knew a woman who told me that moment, when the game cut to Heidi, finally convinced her that her soon to be ex-husband was a nutcase waiting to explode.

Sub the other night I was watching an episode of Master Chef on demand a few days late. Almost to the end, they run a EBS test.

It reset my show back to zero minutes, and there's no fast forward.

Then there is the testing of the Emergency Broadcasting System which, if you ask me, could be done in the wee hours of the morning when there really isn't much of anything on in the first place, but instead, they test it at the most inopportune times during prime-time.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Anything for a buck.  I have seen stations abruptly cut into the middle of an interesting interview to sell some junk.  Of course, you never get to hear the rest of the interview.

Sorry to hear that Mississippi. That sucks. But, that did not happen here in Utah. I got to see the end. Weird.
