Getting Started

If possible, try and get some scrape plastic to practice on. paper will react very differently to plastic. As well as helping with control, it will also help you get an idea of thinning ratios.

We can expect to see lots of builds next year then.

Welcome Blaine!  Sounds like you have a good start into the hobby!  Mastering the AB is definitely a skill and you got a handle on it!  Can't wait to see your builds!

Thanks for the kind responses. I have the Badger 150 brush.  I do need to start practicing on some plastic and learn to thin properly. I'm building a paint booth that will vent to the outside to keep the fumes out of the house.  

My main interests are WWII aircraft.

I have had a Badger 150 for years, its a great piece of kit. I got a 100 early this year, its exactly the same except its gravity feed.

I'm getting the hang of the brush and leaning to control the paint flow. It does amaze me what one can do with these brushes.

I practiced airbrushing using a scrap aircrat kit I had laying around. If it goot to muddy from too much paint, I spray apint the whole darn thing with grey primer and start anew. Kinda like recycling a scrap kit...
