Had my fun for tonight. I hear frantic screams for help from the bedroom, and when I get there, it's a mouse in the floor. Fortunately, he hesitated and I scooped him up and got him out of the house. Funny thing is, after I came back in and walked in the bedroom, everyone (4 of them) is standing on the chest or bed. I hope they've gotten down by now...

doesn't always work as i have 3 cats of which 2 are mousers but still have mice. try chocolate ex-lax as that should get rid of of them but keep it out of reach of small kids.

Hadn't heard of the ex-lax remedy.  Will try it.

I had a mouse in the car last week.  On the advice of the mechanic, we put dryer sheets in the engine and passenger compartments.  Haven't seen any evidence of them since.

Two years ago, we had mice in the basement; the cats (we had four back then--down to two now) and the Jack Russell Terrier took care of them.

The youngest cat catches them and brings them alive to my daughter.  Very generous.

Are they down from the furniture yet, mississippivol?

We had an outdoor stray cat that we adopted a few years ago.  He did a very good job of taking care of mice, snakes, whatever he found in the yard.

One day, he never came home- I suppose something in the swamp behind our house had him for lunch.  Sad day.

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

Oh, yeah, I laughed 'em down! I haven't heard of the exlax or dryer sheets tricks. Sounds like something that needs to be in the attic here shortly.

The drier sheets need to be "Bounce" brand.  I've had problems with others, but not with Bounce.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

We live in the country and always had a few mice in the house. Then one day we took in a stray kitten that had found it's way to our door. Soon we found out that catching mice, snakes, birds and even rabbits was how she spent her time when she was outdoors. More than one time she came scratching at the door with a mouse in her mouth. Once she even offered us a rabbit she had dispatched. (I'm told they do this to provide food to her pride, which includes the wife and I.) I swear if it weren't for that cat, the wife would have moved out.

Damn that cat! Big Smile

we rented a old farm for a little over a year while we were building our new farm. the farm house was maybe 80 years old..filled with plenty of places for critters to hide.  first couple of months the kids would hear scurrying in the walls and it scared them to no end .so i set out a few traps to catch them. i figured they were filed mice at best...i was wrong...first night the traps were out i caught the biggest rat you ever saw. problem was it was caught in a mouse trap. right across the bridge of it snout. my oldest was up early for school and found it in the kitchen. blood was all over the floor. she ran upstairs and woke me up. i came down stairs to find this poor half dead rat with a mouse trap caught on its face sitting in the kitchen... i put the poor thing out of its misery and got rid of it...but from that day on both girls slept in our room...petrified that another rat would get them...it was a very long year

LOL @ mississippivol. Reminded me of an incident a few years back at my place of employment. The secretary screamed and jumped on her desk in terror after I corralled a mouse in a box. Since we're located on the third floor, I dumped him out the window and watched him bounce as the mousey hit the dirt and scurry away. Women..... LMAO!!!

I'm quickly becoming a champion mouser. Ended up snagging and braining a second one running around the bathroom Sunday night. I think I found where they're coming in at, and bunged it up with steel wool and caulk around the water inlet to the toilet in the bathroom. I don't know, though, maybe I should open it up and work at making ace....

When we lived in Davie in South Florida far out west near US 27, we had an issue with field rats parading on top of the wood fence, then jumping on a palm tree near the house. They then would jump on to my roof, run up to the front of the house and jump off onto the front palms. Some nights with a full moon out I would sit out there in the dark with a Crossman pump action pellet air rifle and ambush them as they were traveling on top of the fence line. I had to make the shot count as it was a one shot deal. Some nights I shot up to 7 or 8. These things were the size of a small kitten! I later found out my neighbor had a broken down jet ski covered with a tarp at the far end of the yard that the rats were using as a nesting site. Once the nesting site was removed the problem diminished considerably.

Dont have to worry about mice at my place since the carpet python took up residence in the roof.  From the snake skins we have found, he's about a 6 footer.

Me neither. How about a quick explanation.
