i am always impressed with any human being of advanced age  80 plus who takes life by the horns

i think it gives younger people something to still look foward too and/or believe in

Well, it does not hurt to be a former president and access to such perks ;-) The Golden Knights do not exactly have a program for average senior citizens to go up with them. But my hat is off to him for have the  gumption to go up and put his knees to the breeze again. I do miss it myself.

Alas an original member of the 101st airborne, Jim Martin, had him beat at 93 years old Big Smile

Yeah, I saw him on the news the other day before he was going to make the drop. I know he was a little bummed because he had to jump tandem... he certainly earned the privilege.

Yeah, at first I thought he was doing a solo jump, but then I saw in the article above he had to do a tandem.  I was also a bit surprised to see what he was wearing....somewhat normal attire.  The first article I had read about his intended jump led me to believe he was going to do it in his full paratroop uniform (not the full battle kit though!).  Still pretty cool, and I love how when someone asked him why he did it the first thing he said was "ego.  I did it because I could" and the the second reason was "to show that when you get old you don't have to just sit there and die."  This is my kind of guy!!!!

I was pleased to see President Bush make the jump. He is a great person. When I was with the local daily newspaper I had the opportunity to interview him when he was campaigning for office. There was just the two of us until a White House photographer came into the  room and took our photo. A week or two later an autographed print was mailed to me. It hangs on the wall in my hobby room where i see it daily.

He's a great man, for sure, and I have the utmost respect for him!  I would soil myself , jumping out of that helicopter!!!  Meanwhile, the current president rides a bicycle with a helmet, occasionally…..

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

I'm 43.  Last night I played with my two young daughters, chased the dog around the yard and took down a tent from when we "camped out" in our back yard.  I was exhausted and dead on my feet.  From this day forth, I'm going to remind myself that a 90 year old GHWB parachuted out of an airplane.  If he's got the strength, gumption and energy to do so, then I've got no reason to feel exhausted!  LOL!
