The HMS President, one of the few remaining World War I warships gets a new "dazzle" paint scheme by German artist Tobias Rehberger to mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the war. Here's the link to the story.

Now that's a neat scheme, hadn't seen that one before. Thanks for posting that Tim.
This one was on the news a few weeks back. This is in Liverpool and is part of the WW1 centenary. I think its more an artwork inspire by the Dazzle schemes rather than a replication of a real one.

HMS President is an artwork as well, not the real thing. Ok so long as they promise to restore it later.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Oy! Imagine the decaling on that in a kit.

You're welcome.
I love dazzle camo. It seems like the philosophy was, "We'll make the ship so terribly offensive to look at that it'll be invisible!" And I can here someone else at the planning table pipe in with: "Brilliant!" Some of the ideas for breaking up the silhouette were so creative I can understand why they'd be fodder for artistic inspiration. In fact, dazzle camo inspired how I finished the armor on the 54mm Sgt. Connor figure I reviewed for FSM a few years back.
The pic you posted is interesting. Notice how the orange phases out, then the red as orange makes a comeback? Cool stuff.
I had not noticed that Tim. And the green bands get thicker as it goes back.
I think even today its hard for some to grasp the concept of this. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the Admiralty when this idea was proposed.
I see what you mean on that figure. I wonder if a dazzle scheme would work on a Luft 46 or paper panzer build.
GM, ye, after I re red it, I realised it was not an actual scheme. But then some of those schemes were so far out, one like this would nit have surprised me. I can just imagine a U-Boat commander looking at that through his scope.

That would be a breeze. What about masking it.
