Ah , That's right , it was reported by the media , so it must be true . I wonder what the folks at North American Rockwell think of their baby being called a Fighter !
This is so average for the Media . If it looks like a fighter to you , call it one . This takes me back to a time years ago when I heard a report on local T.V. about Banks and lending Institutions redlining home loans ..For What ? Well , Mobile Homes .
It seems they , the lenders , took the Media's word that a 14'x75' mobile home was a trailer ! never mind that it took a dedicated vehicle ( brand name Mobe - Master ) To move one , AND that required an escort too!
Now as a Dealer and Builder of Mobile - Homes and a regular Home-Builder , I issued this challenge to the local T.V.station with representatives of some lenders there too .Prove it's a trailer ! they decided to do it after the station owner said Do It !
Now here's where it gets interesting .I brought a brand New 14" x 80" mobile home and a Mobe - Master pulling it and a three-quarter ton Pick-Up pulling a 32 foot camper TRAILER ! Plus my escort car .
I asked those who could to , drive the unit and Mobile Home across the field next door .They couldn't . Then I asked them to do the same with the Pick-Up and camper .They all could !
I next took the Mobile - Home Off the Mobe Master and blocked the tongue up .I then took the camper off the truck . I then asked them to put the Mobile Home on the Pick-up and drive it across the field and back.
A funny thing happened when they did that .They lifted the whole front of the pick-up off the ground . It seems the Mobile - Home was to heavy to tow as a TRAILER .
What I didn't know is the whole thing was filmed from the station roof-top . Needless to say that station called a trailer a trailer and a Mobile - Home by their proper names after that . Redlining stopped at the lenders present !
You see , sometimes you must assume the media has actually no idea as to what they are talking about . Why ? Lack of research and a singular mindset ! Remember this the next time you see a North American Rockwell B1b referred to as a fighter !
