Hello everyone, I'm just back from vacation in Cleveland Ohio, and one of the places I visited was MAPS Air Museum, which is located in North Canton, about 40 miles from Cleveland itself. They have a Hanger full of aircraft, and a lot of planes out on the tarmac. I'll be posting some photo's once I get them sorted, but anyways here is a teaser. Its me sitting in the Pilots seat of a C-47 Skytrain, otherwise known as a Dakota. The plane is set up to allow visitors to climb on in and look it over inside and out. This is something you really don't get the option to do all that often and I took advantage of it.
Its a great place to spend a day if your are in the area..

Looking forward to seeing more pictures. You peaked my interest, I think I'll take a trip that way later this summer.

Ruptured Duck on a C-47?! The real one was on a B-24 not a C-47.
That looks way cool!
There are two planes I would love to log time in as part of a bucket list- a DC-3 and a Piper J-3!

Just like "Shoot, you're faded"...there's likely several renditions of "Ruptured duck". 24's and 25's seem more common though!
Thought "The Ruptured Duck" was Ted Lawson's plane on the Tokyo raid also.
I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.
