Bachelor for a day!
Posted by castelnuovo on Monday, March 6, 2017 11:01 PM

Wife and kids are going to be away for a day with other wifes and kids doing wife and kids stuff. I don't know what the "stuff"is, that is what they told me and it is good enough...

My point is that I am going to be bachelor for a day.

The plan is:

-leave the toilet seat up

-eat pizza from the box, watch Terminator movies ( I am open to other  suggestions) and drink a pint or two

What else???

Sit and let the silence and solitude wash over you for 10-15 minutes.

Oh yea!!!!!  That would be wonderful to sit in total concentration and not worry about when the next crash will happen, or when you will get called on to do something, or worse, when everyone is home and its silent.

That is a given Smile. The modeling "cave" is in the basement and I am there usually after 930 or 10 pm. Kids are in bed, wife is watching TV so I have "me" time. But during the day i would preffer to be on ground level, not below it Smile

Watch a war movie "on demand".

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

As much as the wife and I get along great, a day alone is outstanding. Put on a pot of coffee, turn on the lights in the workroom, crank up the classical music and work away. If she's still gone at dinner time, order a Moo Goo Gai Pan dinner with Wonton soup, and a couple of shrimp rolls for delivery.

I like to watch my war movies themed for the time... March might be "The Great Escape" and "The Bridge at Remagen"... or maybe "Gods and Generals". It's a bit too late in the year for the Iwo Jima or Zulu movies... Of course a good drinking and movie viewing buddy is a requirement.

I love that movie. Edward Fox steals it... and it mentions a lot of the same stomping grounds that I visited... Mostar, Sarajevo... I am pretty sure that I saw the dam from the movie on one patrol... good choice

Now when I think of it, I might cancel the terminator and add a war movie series from Yugoslavia
