As I understand it, from reading the display in front of Shoo Shoo Baby, she will be sent to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum when The Memphis Belle is finished. I asked how they would get her there and the person at Dayton said that it would be flown there, All interesting!

Interesting.  I've been to the museum twice in the past year and they have a fantastic collection.  They already have a B-17 named Shoo Shoo Baby, and I am hoping they are displayed together.

I have to say if you can, plan a trip to Dayton.  The museum is free and you will be totally amazed.  You have to stand next to these aircraft.  The B-29 Boxcar dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki. The huge B-36. And the one of a kind XB-70 Valkyrie.

All indoors as well.  However, if you want to take pictures it is very dimly lit so bring a tripod.

That's really great. A friend of mine from Memphis said that over all the years she was on display, she was stripped of just about everything of value.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Great to see she is just about ready for her coming out.  And that she will be preserved at the Wright/Pat mesuem.  Too many of the aircraft and ships from that era have been lost to time and cutting torches.
