Very proud Dad
Posted by tempestjohnny on Thursday, March 30, 2017 8:08 PM

My daughter will be walking this May to receive her BS in psychology.  She actually finished last December with a 4.10 GPA but graduation is in May.  She is going on to get a PsyD.

My son just had his Board of Review for his Boy Scouts Eagle. Only 4 of every 100 kids that start scouts makes Eagle. It's a really big deal.  I'm beaming

Hey, TJ - Hearty congratulations and well done for you. Parfect GPA and working toward the Doctorate, daughter will no doubt be successful.

You're right, the Eagle Scout badge is a very big deal. My wifes dad was an Eagle, as are his son and two grandson's. Before grampa passed away last fall, his favorite day out with the boys was to drive to where their Eagle projects are located, wooden path bridges, picnic tables and benches, at a county park in the forest.

The eldest grandson has Down Syndrome, he also made the wooden path markers and mileage posts for the many trails in the park. Grampa just beamed with love and pride when he saw their efforts. His house was filled with photos and BSA awards his family had acquired, the organization was one of the major components of his life.

Good for you, TJ, be rightfully proud, you have done a good job as a dad.

Congratulations!  I am an Eagle Scout, so I know how hard that is to achieve.  Got it mostly due to my mother having her foot up my backside.  Confused  I have a masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and the PsyD is a nice degree.  Allows you to do the client work without having to worry so much about research.

You obviously did a great job with your kids, and have every right to be proud!

Dwayne I've tried to be involved as much I as could. Den leader and asst cubmaster in cub scouts and parent volunteer/ quartermaster in boy scouts. I kick myself everyday because I made it to Life and then let teenage life get in the,way of finishing my Eagle. I didn't want him to have the same regrets.  John

You and Mom have every right to be proud...and pass on good wishes to both of the kids, they have had a great drive instilled in them and should do well for the rest of their lives.
