For those trying Flickr to post pics
Posted by fermis on Monday, July 3, 2017 11:18 AM

I have yet to figure out the nuances of organizing things on the site yet, but I did figure out how to get a pic posted! That's the important thing!!!

Once you have selected the pic you want to post, click on "share"...it's the arrow icon.

You'll get a pop up window with "Share...Embed...Email...BBCode"

Click on "BBCode"...code will be highlighted...."copy" the code.

Come back here, click the image icon above and "paste" the code in "source"

Starting at the far right end...highlight and delete everything from the end, back through and including [/img].

Do the same thing at the front of the code, starting and including "[img]"

The "BBCode" is the important part. You can leave the whole code in "source" and the pic will show up after you post, but will have some code showing in the post, just under the pic. Deleting that extra stuff will eliminate that extra code showing up...AND the pic will show up while you are still working on you post.

Hope this helps!!!

I will edit this later, with some pics. For some reason, when using the app (I upload directly from my phone/cam to Flickr), it takes a while before my most recent pics will show up, for me to upload.

Seems highly rated in most polls.

fermis, there is an alternative way. Its a bit more long winded but saves having to delete some code and its the method i prefer.

Select the ''Download this photo'' option, the downward pointing arrow. In the pop up box select ''View all sizes'' Once the new one opens select the size you wnat, i go for 640x360. Right click the image, select properties and then copy and paste the URL. Then just back page to where you stared.

Once you get used to it its prety easy to do.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I'll try that...

Appears to work just fine. Not a bad route to go!

Thank you very much for the info.  I just signed up at Flickr.  I haven't had problems with photobucket yet, but I see the writing on the wall (and on the forums).

That post has photos I hosted on flickr over 7 years ago. They are still there.
