Sorry to hear he passed away. He was one colorful actor. I remember him is several Wild Wild West TV shows with Robert Conrad. He did a couple of Magnum PI episodes and a regular in Black Sheep Squadron.

I would not want to be at the receiving end from one of his paunches! RIP Sir.

Aside from "Black Sheep"...

I remember my F-i-L talking about Red.
He was living in Florida, and snuck away from home to go see Elvis....him and a buddy. They hiked through woods and swamps and all wilderness things for about 15 miles. They finally got to the fairgrounds where the show was, but didn't have any money to get in (kids, them days!!!). Red caught them trying to sneak in behind the stage. He interrogated them a little...and finally said "Just stay with me, and don't get out of my sight or you'll be in deep $#!+". They watched Elvis from the side of the stage. After the show, Red gave them a ride home....even bought em dinner on the way.

Boo Hoo  Oh man.  That's sad news indeed.  That show fueled my passion for airplanes back when I was a little kid.  Rest in peace, Mr. West.  Thank you for giving a generation of fans such good memories.

I remember him as Sgt Micklin on "Black Sheep Squadron ". Ran around with Elvis in the early days. He was a regular in a drugstore I worked at in Bartlett, TN. Rest in peace, sir.
