Battle of Caporetto 1917

My twin sister's late father-in-law's dad fought with the Italians at Caporetto, don't know anything else right now, i.e. what unit(s) he'd fought with.

Roy Harold Scherer Jr. a.k.a. Rock Hudson (1925-1985) stared in the 1957 A Farewell To Arms remake based on the 1929 Hemmingway novel concerning the WWI Austio-Italian front, including the Battle of Caporetto, YouTube has full English versions up, DMCA complaints not yet filed apparently, one's been up since 2013; its "Hollywood Clean", i.e. un or lightly soiled wardrobes & props, seens parts of it, not particularly interesting though might try to sit though all of it. Also should see the 1932 original starring Gary Cooper.

 

That is very interesting. Someone else on this site had a relative that was of Albainian decent who was in the Ottoman army. I didn't know they made a remake of A Farewell To Arms. I will have to check that out. I know what you mean about watching something on YouTube before it gets pulled. Every few year a French 1992 movie about the battle of Dien Bien Phu comes out with English subtitles but gets pulled within a few weeks. I caught it twice at least. 

Rommel with 100 troops captured over 3,000 Italian troops.  Also that the German troops were so short of food rations that many of them haven't eaten the 3 days before the attack was made against the Italians. 

It was a fleeting victory.  After the Italians reqroup their counter attack took the Austro-Hungarians out of the war.
