The Nakajima torpedo bomber was one of the airplanes built for the movie Tora Tora Tora.

The construction of these airplanes was covered extensively by Air Classics magazine back in 1968 and 1969, before the movie was released. As soon as movie production was complete, the airplanes were crated and put up for sale. Any of the Japanese planes you see today at airshows were in the movie. The Kates and Vals are actually built up from the BT-13 while the Zeros are all T-6's.

Using real airplanes instead of CGI. What a concept.

Yes, the days of using the real thing is long gone. CGI has definitely taken center stage. The B5N replaced the Yokosuka B4Y, then competed against the Mitsubishi B5M for production contracts. The first B5N prototype flew in January 1937. I couldn't remember...so I checked my stash and have one to build for a GB.

Thanks, Hunter. I'm glad you were finally able to see the pictures. I have about 75 more to edit and post of the airshow itself.

Yeah, it's not working like I had hoped. May have to post the pictures one-at-a-time. Tedious. Twenty-five pictures in each of four folders. Whew!

I hope this works. The first folder of pictures from My trip to Moody AFB over Halloween weekend. Community Appreciation Days open house and airshow. I'll try to place a link to the folder and hope for the best. I didn't do too much editing, just some sharpening and taking out distractions like light poles. I tried to enhance details as best as I could. Enjoy. Comments welcome. Oh, the pictures are on use.com.
