Posted by Tojo72 on Thursday, December 14, 2017 4:36 PM

After 40 Year’s with my company PSE+G I retired today. They are the biggest gas and electric company in NJ,I didn’t get rich but it was a nice run,I,m one of those dinosaurs who retire with a pension.I,m happy to be out short of my 60th birthday, and I look forward to relocation to the Asheville area of North Carolina hopefully by early summer.

Congratulations, that's a beautiful area your moving too btw. It's just over the mountains from Tennessee where I grew up. I'm sure you've already been but the Biltmore estate is amazing and can easily spend hours walking the grounds.

Well done, Tojo, best wishes for a long, healthy and very enjoyable retirement. 17 years retired next month, age 59 for me too, no choice, (mandatory.). One problem comes with retirement, you never get a day off and the honey do list seems much longer than before.

Hope you find everything you wish for in Asheville.

Congrads Tojo! Seven more years before I can (hopefully) collect my pension.

I think you'll like NC, beautiful scenery and it snows about 3-4 times a year. Enough to enjoy it but not enough to get tired of it.

If you get a chance visit us at our show in Roanoke, Virginia. It's not the biggest by far but I don't think I'm bragging that it's generally one of the smoothest run and fun shows around.

Congratulations Tojo!  It’s always fun to read some good news like this.  I have 42 years in, so mine will be in 2018 or 2019. My wife says I need to have a fund for “ hobby “ expences before I retire, so it may be 2019.

I hope you and your family enjoy a healthy and happy retiremen.

Good for you, Tojo.  I finished working two years ago but officially retired on 01 April 2016 after 31.5 yrs of service.  I've got to say that pension is one of the best bosses I've ever worked for.  I do what I want, when I want and for as long as I want.  As a matter of fact, yesterday I did nothing.  I didn't quite finish doing it, so not being a quitter, I continued doing nothing today and it might carry into the weekend as well.

Enjoy yourself!

Retired and living the dream!

That is terrific news Tojo, and you're still a "Young"  man.  It's rare to see someone at the same firm for 40 years anymore.  My grandfather's generation,  yes you saw it all the time, but todays kids it's very unlikely.

And hopefully no more shoveling snow, I write as its 12 degrees here in Boston.

Wishing you decades of a good retirement.

Stay Busy!

Good for you, Tojo!  I retired at age 57, since I knew I was going to get canned anyway, and it is the best thing I could have done.  I am now 76, and have enjoyed those retirement years greatly.  Best wishes for a long and happy retirement!
