In the same boat with being alone.  Only plug in a plastic 16" high window tree hanging on the porch.  Was the wifemates favorite time of year, but just don't get into it anymore.

Only gift bought for someone else was a holster for my ex's "J" frame.  Did order out some leather for my own new present though. Along with 3 kits from Squadron, and still waiting on two of them.

Supposed to go to buddy's for Christmas Eve and stay over for Christmas, but been fighting a nasty bug all week and doubt I'll go, don't want to pass it on to a good friend.

Though there are a few I'd give it to in a heartbeat, Christmas or not.

Shopping done and decorations up
Posted by Jay Bones on Friday, December 22, 2017 12:09 AM

Finished my Christmas shopping about a week ago, and a couple days ago got the decorations up.

Brother is getting a $30 gift card to J. Crew.  He wears their boxers, drives almost an hour to the outlet mall and still pays $14 a pair.  I think that's ridiculous, since Hanes and Fruit of the Loom are available pretty much everywhere and are 3-4 in a package for 9 bux.  But he says they don't fit him as well, and its his money so...

Bought my dad a gift subscription to Hemmings Classic Car.  He used to get Sports & Exotics, until they stopped publishing that one.

Found my mom a paring knife to replace the missing one from the knife set I bought her after they built this house.  Before she had mismatched knives, and her favorite was a rusty boning knife (seriously, it was rusty).

Also bought her 2 avacado tools.  Hard plastic knife to cut them in half, a tool to remove the pits then a scoop that slices them into strips as you scoop the flesh out.  One for each kitchen she has.

I'm alone for the holidays so I don't get a tree or put up lights.  But I did get one of these Major Awards.

(its a vinyl window poster, $12-14 while the real deal official leg lamp from the movie that comes in a wooden crate, packed in shavings with a reproduction letter of award is $260)

Can't tell the difference at night anyway.
