I got into the “Online Readers Gallery”!
Posted by Toshi on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 6:56 AM

To my fellow FSM Forum Members,

I just found out from out of all people Mrs. Toshi in that one of my builds made it into the Digital Readers Gallery.  Of all people, Mrs. Toshi helps me to sometimes write my threads on my bad TBI days.  She was perusing the Digital Readers Gallery and found out that in the April showing (Most Recent) my Tamiya 1/32 Mosquito ”Operation Jericho“ made it in.

This will be aircraft number four that made it in the Galleries.  My first one was the Monogram 1/48 Visible B-17G Flying Fortress.  That kit was filled in the interior with Eduard PE from front to back!  That build was very fun as that was my first year of building after a forty year hiatus.

My second entry were actually two Corsairs in one photo.  It was a Tamiya 1/32 Corsair “Bird Cage” and a Revell 1/48 Corsair.  I don’t own them anymore.  And I’m a bit sad that I don’t own these two aircraft that was chosen into the Digital Readers Gallery.  But I’m proud that they now sit in the bar area of Streetsboro, Ohio off of route forty three, the VFW!  I know that my two builds are being enjoyed by veterans that go to the Streetsboro, Ohio VFW.  And that’s all that counts!

Entry number three was my Trumpeter 1/32 “Night Attack” Harrier.  Just last week my Harrier saw some action and won the battle.  Allow me to tell a short vignette.  For some strange reason, we here in North East Ohio have been getting some really spring like warm weather.  All the snow melted and we had sunshine on one day with seventy degree temps!  Of course some days were rainy, some days we even saw some thunder storms.  Yeah right! In mid February?  So STUPID Toshi decided to air out the house and open our windows especially the sliding glass door that leads to our patio.  A storm came up and blew wind unto ”The Great Wall of Toshi” at this point you all know what happened and I’m lucky the rest of my Planes did not see the same fate as the Harrier did!  Surprisingly the only damage was that the drop tanks and some bomb/rockets fell off as it hit the ground. It has been repaired and is back on “The Great Wall of Toshi” hopefully not ready to see any future action!  lol!

And now build number four, the Tamiya 1/32 Mosquito “Operation Jericho“.  I’m very surprised that my builds get into the Gallery and that I know my builds have so many flaws it’s not even funny!  So as one of your most humbled FSM brother, I leave you with this, thank you all for following my builds.  It’s done nothing but help me grow as a person, you’ve all been a huge factor in keeping me healthy and active.  Now even Mrs. Toshi gets well wishes and prayers from you all.  She so appreciates this kind gesture and it touches her heart as such.  Mrs. Toshi said to All FSM Forum Members, Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You!  And in closing, the Miura’s all thank you.

Your friend, Toshi

P.S.  I completely forgot, there is one more build chosen for the Online Readers Gallery.  A Zoukei Mura 1/48 Kyushu Shinden.

Thank you so very much armor 2.0.  I learned everything from FSM Forum Members.  From the basic tools needed, how to purchase and assemble AM tools/PE, painting, how to AB, and everything in between!  But most important of all, the camaraderie of FSM Members.

Congradulations Toshi!!!!! Toast

You're a fine modeler and don't give yourself enough credit. And if everything in the Reader's Gallery was at the level of Femis and Lawdog I'd sell all my kits and just give up. Always great to see someone more around my level of modeling finesse.

Hope your better half is doing better.

Thank you so much Gamera!  You’re a great FSM Member!  No, I’m just too hard on myself.  I want to be at the level of a Fermis/lawdog114.  And not in a few years, I want to be there today!  lol!  I’m so impatient.  lol!

And to put me at or around your level is insane.  lol!  I wish!  lol!  I just started three years ago.  Half the time, I don’t know what I’m doing (Due to my TBI) especially the very next day.  I’ll go to the bench and not remember what I did yesterday.  It’ll take me a half hour of just trying to organize myself and mind especially my mind, I tend to get a seizure at night.  I’m taking a new medicine that’s been stopping that from happening.  It’s been two great months without a seizure.  I just don’t like how I feel when I take the anti-seizure medicine.

As for Mrs. Toshi, she’s doing fine.  She’s still taking antibiotics via intravenous line called a pic line.  I help her with that every eight hours.  They will remove the pic line next week Monday on March 5th.  Yeah!  Then she just takes a antibiotic via orally.  And that’s it.  Thank you Gamera for inquiring about Mrs. Toshi.

Mrs. Toshi is doing fine.  Thank you very much for inquiring.  She is on a antibiotic regemine at every eight hours via gravity intravenous system.  I always help her with that.  It is very tiring and trying for us as we must be on it every eight hours which means it includes getting up in the middle of the night and or the wee hours in the morning.

She completes this antibiotic procedure on March fifth.  That’s just five more days and Mrs. Toshi and I just can’t wait to get all of this out of our lives so that we can move forward.

Mrs. Toshi is my Gem!  Everyday I cherish her.  She is the love of my life.  I don’t know what I’ll do with out her.  Thank you so much for your support, it means very much to us!

Thank you fox.  Yes, March fifth Mrs. Toshi will be off the intravenous IV antibiotics.  Mrs. Toshi as well as myself are very tired running around this every eight hour IV schedule.  But we both know it’s for the best.  Anyway fox, and FSM Forum Members, thank you for the well wishes as well as the prayers.  It’s very heart felt!
