The vendor section was less than previous years. The one that usually had all the WWII films, signs and relics across the back of the show room was not there and the tables in the other room were sparse and not stacked high like they usually were. Saw quite a few guys make good deals and make a couple trips out to their cars with arms full. Most of the stuff I looked at that I was getting interested in were (I thought) a little pricey so I kept my money in my wallet. When I came home I checked a few of them at a couple of places and saw them about $5 to $10 cheaper. The older sailing ships were priced totally out of my range. I'd have to go back to work to afford them.

I didn't have that sandwich. I got the Tuna wrap with onion rings. It was VERY GOOD. My nephew got a cheeseburger and he said it was great. I've never had anything there that wasn't good.

Sorry you didn't make it Tojo. It was a really great show. The judges kept saying that this was the toughest judging they ever had to do. The models were great and they really had a rough time picking winners. The ones they picked really deserved it as they were fantastic. Even as early as when I was setting my entries out, the ones I saw made me think about just putting them back in the box and going home. I'm glad I didn't. Saw a lot of great ones that gave me a lot of ideas for future builds and learned a lot that will help me too.  Had a great time and saw some old friends and met a few new ones.

I brought my nephew with me. First time he has seen anything like it. He's seen my stuff at the house and liked it but at the show he walked around with his mouth open and couldn't find words to describe what he saw. The only thing he kept saying was "WOW". He talked to a few men about their entries and they told him about where their ideas came from. He just loved it. He wants to go with me to any shows I go to now. He's made a couple of those small PE models. Don't know what he's going to build next but I think he'll do OK no matter what he builds.

Didn't win anything but had a great time. Oh, did hit for 2 of my raffle tickets. One was 8 bottles of true-color paint and the other was a Chinese battleship that was pre-built  and painted. No english on the whole box so not sure but I think it's 1/700.

Mosquitocon is on (so far-depending on the weather) for tomorrow. Got all my stuff ready to be loaded in the car for the trip. Hope to see some of you there. I'll be wearing my tan "Commerative Air Force" cap and floating back and forth between the show tables and the vendor room. When they call out the winners of the raffle tickets every hour, I'll be right there checking my tickets.

If you're coming, have a safe trip.
