Contact Revell
Posted by Tim3737 on Friday, May 25, 2018 9:28 PM

Has anyone tried (succesfully) to contact Revell lately? I have tried emailing twice with no response and the phone number on their website only leads to short recorded message ending in "Good bye". It's kinda like they don't exist anymore.

If you're talking about Revell USA. They don't exist anymore. Revell Germany just bought the Revellogram part of Hobbico

Its does seem as thoug their Revell USA website has not been updated, it still to Hoobico being the owner. The German site makes no referance to the new owners but seems to be getting updated.

A few days ago I spoke with customer service at Scale Hobbyist and was told Revell Germany hoped to be actively running by late July and anwsering inquiries and replacing missing parts in the US (my problem). The US based company is gone and now part of the German company.

Their Service & Support page:

https://www.revell.com/support/index.html

was updated shortly after the announcement of the sale to show the following message:

"Regrettably the Replacement Parts feature is not available at this time. Any requests not shipped by Friday, April 13, 2018, will unfortunately be cancelled. We hope to resume service as soon as possible."

I'd say you're not going to get a reply from anyone for a while, maybe not till July, as the previous post mentions.

Thank you all for your replies. I do appreciate it.

If anyone is interested....I got a 1/20 scale 1969 Camaro Z28 off ebay and wanted to do a wheel swap, but being unfamiliar with Revell Diecast I wanted to find out how the wheels were mounted so I would not damage the car. Since I hadn't heard from them (Revell) I just decided to give it a shot with a flat blade screwdriver on each side behind the wheel procedure and 3 of them pryed off fairly easily while the 4th took some effort but came off ok with minor scarring to the inside of the wheel (which is not visible anyway. The center hub on the stock rally wheels is basically a press fit holding the wheel in place. I would like to see if I can get replacement metal etched emblems but I guess I'll be patient............til late july then.....
