Mine was FSM March 1994, the issue was a big plane on the cover, and then I see it “lighting the Starship Enterprise”
That was my Aha moment; I can add lights to a model? WTF! Mind Blowned! After I got up from the floor of my LHS, I started looking for all the bits and pieces I would need.
To this day I have Zero models with homemade lights, I did have a NCC 1701-A with the sound and lights package. I actually built 3 of those, 1 for me, 2 for fans that wanted one made about $100 each +expenses, and had to rebuild 1 twice, a pediatrician had it in his office, thank you 2 years old kids!
But my NCC 1701-D was my pet project for the longest time, was just ready to build it when I noticed 1major piece was stolen/lost (bitter ex-wife?). Well I just got yesterday (may 30th 2018) the same one, not a repop, or new version from another manufacturer. So the bug just bite me hard again, time to look for someone that can read wiring schematics and can build the dammed thing for me (the wiring box and board).
