Rant; if you’re going to sell it, then just sell it! (2nd hand site postings)

For the last week I have been corresponding with a seller for 3 models, and some laser disk for wall hanger decorations.
So last Wednesday we agree on a price, I say great where and when? No answer
Yesterday he responds “I will contact you tomorrow evening for a weekend meet up, when I get my work schedule from work”. I respond “Great can’t wait to do business!” As of this post, still no response only 6 ½ hours after “evening”.
I know modelers would not leave one hanging in the lurch on a kit. The guy has about 450 items for sale and only 6 models, so he isn’t one of us.
I am just ARGGG. 1 kit I wanted in my stash, 1 was and simple interesting build, the last one was going to be my first Return Model in 25 years, I don’t want to mess up a favorite kit, and it had to be a subject that would keep my interest so there you have it ARGGG. Should I just run the idiot over with my power wheelchair accidently of course?

Sounds like what happens on Letgo,it seems all people do is ask questions.

Look at the bright side, you haven’t paid him yet. I say screw him and look elsewhere. His loss, not yours. Not worth getting uptight over it. I’m sure eBay has plenty of you’re looking for.

Well, people get busy and life things get in the way and sometimes time is short due to work schedules as he said. Patience pays off specially since you have not paid him.

As an example, I have someone's comission build ready to be picked up. I completed it 2-3 weeks ago. He supplied the model and decals and will pay when he picks it up but he has been extremely busy and I understand. He just purchased a house and is doing some renos to it along with a hectic work schedule. He will eventually come and get his model once he can get away.

I had a similar situation happen a few months ago.  I won an auction, and waited forever to get a shipping quote from the guy.  I was very paitent with him.  Once he got me the shipping quote I paid him within minutes, and it took forever for him to ship said item.  I landed up opening a claim with Paypal over it, and that got him to ship the item.  I shouldn't of had to do that.  He should of just shipped the item.  His communication wasn't very good either.  I would give him several days to respond to messages.  Needless to say I won't be bidding on anything he lists for sale.  I was rather irritated about it before I even paid him, cause I really wanted the kit.  It was a great deal in my book.  I understand where you are coming from, just try to be paitent, and maybe it will pay off in the end!  Good luck, hope it all works out for you.

I had the same thing happen to me not long ago but only in reverse. I was the seller and the buyer took 4 days to pay but that's after I filed a complaint with ebay on the 4th day. As soon as he paid me he sent me a message saying that I should have contacted him before filing a complaint, really??

I responded back to him saying I sent him 3 separate emails and invoices on separate days and he never responded. He later claimed the emails wound up in his junk folder. This is totally BS cause the massages are listed on your ebay selling and purchase  notifications along with one's regular emails.

Keyda81,

I should have elaborated on 2nd hand site, this is our version of graig's list so no mediation possible. I have never had issues on eBay except getting things from china, I know 8-12 weeks, I expect that, after 14 weeks I contact them and the 2 times this happened, full refund! I try to be polite understanding in all my transactions (publicly, inside I may be ready to bust) I am Canadian eh! we are known for being FRAKING POLITE!!! I am not going to burst that! (lol)

Update

So the guy sends me an email at 0738 Sunday morning saying we can meet at 1100-1200, well I got the email at 1050 so no way I was going to make it so I tell him most likely time would be 1500-1600, just to send me a time and location. No response
I then proceed to refresh my search and Holly S..T, the model of my childhood dreams, and another from my adult geek hood and dare say maybe my first resin model posted and still for sale?
So now my choice is this: the dream and my first? Or 1 kit I wanted in my stash, 1 was and simple interesting build, the last one was going to be my first Return?
No choice what so ever! I contact the 2nd seller, get the details from him and say”done deal”. Set up time and location, never even considered negotiating for a better price, that’s how good of a deal this was.
I contact seller 1, tell him, that I am out of town and I won’t be back until 2300, so I will contact him next week if they are still available.
About 20 minutes latter I get a cell call from seller 2, and he is going to be in my area, and do I want to make the deal today? Hell yes and at 1745, in the loading dock of a hospital, deal brokered!
I now have, a 1997 revel monogram Battlestar Galactica, Viper mark 1, a Moebius Viper mark II, and a eBay purchased cast resin Viper mark 1, and he even threw in a partial built, scale 1:1 Luger

So all this rant of seller not responding to your calls and now suddenly there‘s peace in the valley he responds? Hmmm... sounds like a case of being too impatient on your part. Glad to hear you got what you wanted.

no this went on for over a week, lack of response to all questions, when he finally said we could meet at the time he requested, he didn't mention where. I had sent 4 locations,

he was just a bad communicator, and everything was just frustrating. I was happy that he finally responded with a "sale time" it was the first active email i had from him.

I still would be interested in his items, but i don't want 5 days of 1 word responses, then "lets do it now",

Falling on my Viper score, and in 3 emails in 2 hours or so, and having the items in my hand at the dedicated time and place, thats how to do it

I don't think i was impatient Blacksheep, thanks to all members for all the comments
