no significant other and saving like crazy for IPMS Telford in November. That's my major expensive kit purchases where discounts can be bargened for.
Also, Zoukei Mura have a stand and hopefully I can pre-order so I don't have to be worried about IPMS members getting an hour start on me. I can take my time (bad heart - slow walker) and know that everything will be waiting for me and I don't have to use soldiers skills to fend off queue jumpers.
If lots are limited then I shall get what I can and purchase the rest from Japan and use my Japanese shipping address to avoid customs fees which here in the UK can add up to 75% extra onto a kit!
before you all start with the illegal stuff.... I reckon that after 26 years service on frontline and bodyguard details getting shot, blown up and other injuries that the government owe me a few favours! Besides.. avoiding tax here in the UK is a national passtime!
I'm also going to look at Meng and Takom plus some Trumpeter armour/softskin kits too.
Wouldn't mind some od Trumpeters new 1/32 Migs too.... but Zoukei Mura and some of Tamiyas 1/32 Zero's etc are top of the list!
I also have some full size stuff to play with too.....
STUG III.... just one of the full size restored vehicles I have in my storage to play with in the summer months! Fully working with a 75mm L/48 restored to operation by OEM Rheinmetall and fires blanks. We've even got the intercom and radio working!
This year we've painted them in the German Grey used prior to Feb 1943.... it is darker than modellers think and provided by and OEM paint manufacturer in germany who supplied the paints for the Army and make the stuff to original chipset formulae and shade from their own archives. The paint is acrylic, changed for mdern health and safety rules but the shade is chipset matched and accurate!
