It's that time again

Model Palooza is right around the corner sor I'll ask again, "who's going?

I'll be handling the club's table as usual plus this year I think there will be an extra table for displaying things from and aboui the Vietnam war.  We're still working on that part but if things go as expected, I'll be in my jungle fatigues and have some things on display.  I will be bginging my models of a Air Force M-113 A.P.C. and a Hobby Box Cadillac/Gage armored car that I converted into the XM-706E2 that I used to drive for Air Base Defense during alerts.

Nope...last PM I have is from 9 months ago.  The forums have issues right now for sure.  Try again.  I'll keep an eye out for it.  I'm not getting any notifications of PM's, posts, anything right now.

We should see how many FSM forum people we can get together.  Would be pretty cool to put faces to avatars.  LOL!

If Bish did that, I'd find a way down there if I had to hitchhike.

Exactly when and where is this? I need to be in Clearwater sometime in the next 60 days anyway.......

Greg, Clearwater is not that far, about a 3 hour drive. Should be a straight shot once on I4 from Tampa.

Eagle, thanks for the dates and the link my friend. It would be a hoot to meet, that's for sure.

Ernie, thanks for the estimate. 3 hrs sounds about right. Used to drive PIE to Clermont once in a while. I4 even worse now from what I hear. Guess I'd best get used to it.

I think PIE would be cheaper to fly into.  TPA and MCO are high volume and geared for the Tampa Orlando areas.  I think Aligent flies into Sanford.

As for I-4....OMG.  It has gotten worse since I was here as a kid!!  It is an accident magnet.  LOL!  I live just outside Tampa (Brandon area) and it takes me about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes to get to Pop Century (our resort of choice).....on a Sunday morning!!!!  If I take off work and take the kids during the week...it takes a least 2 hours to 2 and a half to get to a resort or park.

I think you should make the trip.  It's a great show and hey, you'll be in Orlando!!  LOL!

P.S. IT WILL BE HOT!!!  LOL!

Eagle,

I have a buddy lives up in Deland. It is he who has told me how much worse I4 has gotten just in the past few years. So I sure don't doubt you a bit.

You're right about Allegiant, flies into Sanford. Also to PIE so I can get nonstop to either place. Don't mind the drive down (2 hard days), but I feel I have to stay for a couple weeks to make it work.

I hear it is HOT, indeed.

I heard somewhere I-4 is supposed to be the worst Interstate for accidents.  I know between Tampa and Orlando it's rough.

So you know your way around....either airport will get you to Orlando pretty quick...depending on traffic of course.

Yeah brother!  Sept. will probably be about the same, maybe a tad cooler.

We'd love to meet up with you and we could all do lunch.  Keep us posted.

I4 is a mess but it gets you there, just have to be careful with the construction and lousy drivers. I’m originally from Miami and drove there last week for some family things and it’s worse there. Even in Pembroke Pines In Broward has gotten like a madhouse since we moved in 2007.

My grandsons birthday is Saturday so I will not make the show this time. Earlier looked like Florenice was gonna mess up our trip but the latest  track estimates land fall along N Carolina way way east from our destination, Greenville, South Carolina. Hopefully they keep adjusting the track to the north and keep it offshore. They estimate it will intensify to 140mph once it goes into warmer water close to the US coast.

My wife and I will be there! On Saturday we'll be working the door plus I have four entries in the show. Really looking forward to the event this year.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
