Thanks so much, Toshi.

We are all so glad you checked in with us. It's been said before, but your friendliness and positive attitude has made you, Mrs Toshi, and your family feel like a part of our families.

It seems obvious (to me, anyway) that many, many folk here feel that way.

Greg

I feel a little dumb for starting this thread and not just sending a PM. I go overboard respecting the privacy of others, to the point of being half-afraid of making contact at all half the time. It's nuts, but I am who I am.

But he has checked in now.

Thanks for reporting back re the PM, Bill. It is appreciated.

To my good friend Greg.  It is with great honor that you would start a thread on my behalf.  This is very heartfelt!  You sir are not a little dumb for starting this thread.  You are a very concerned and loving FSM Forum Member and did not go overboard.  Thank you for being a part of this great family!

Your friend, Toshi

GMorrison

I wrote him a PM and got a response right away. I suggest it be the way to approach it.

I agree. Nothing wrong with sending a PM wondering his whereabouts / concerns.

Toshi has disclosed his actual name and location in past posts. It is unusal for a contributor like Toshi to suddenly go off "the air" so to speak. I would air on the side of caution, however I think he would be touched to sight a card from members of the fourm injuring after his well being.

My .02 cents worth.

I agree with Sheep and Bill.

Contact beyond the forum seems pushy to me, unless somebody has a closer relationship with Toshi. Me, I've never so much as exchanged PM's with him that I recall.

In my initial post, I was reaching out to anyone who might have that sort of closer relationship with Toshi, not really asking for ideas of how to contact him.

There can be unintended consequences from seemingly well intentioned  gestures, so I'd urge caution.

Some years ago I had a medical problem that hospitalized me for a few days.

Before long, my bedside phone was ringing. Several members had figured that one out and were calling to express their concern.

But it was very upsetting to my wife, who felt that I'd exposed myself by being in the Forum.

I've heard from Toshi via PM, which leads me to believe that you all have too. I'll leave it at that.

In my opinion, he's probaably busy with his own private life. Do what you want, but if it were me, I'd respect his privacy. I know I wouldn't want some strange card show up in my mailbox wondering how the hell anyone found out my name and address. In fact, I'd be a bit upset. I don't like the idea of posting his real name on this post, let alone an address in a PM. That's just me.

I don't know what to say.

Would sure like an update on good 'ol Toshi, on the other hand wouldn't want to invade his privacy. Feel between a rock and a hard place.

I work for a company that has access to detailed data.  I have a phone number linked to this information.  Who would be best to call?

Thanks,

John

Greg, Mopar -

I found Toshi in Streetsboro, OH. Ph.# unlisted, his full name is Allan T. Miura. I don't want to give his address here, but if you PM me I'll let you have it.

I think I'll send him a card, to see what's up. What do you folks think, good idea, or not? With his health following the head injury I'm concerned he might have relapsed, plus Mrs. Toshi had a fairly recent scare. Hopefully he's just having too much fun with the new grandson and stays busy.

Hi, Greg -

No, and it has been quite a while. His name is Alan Miura, I'll see if he's listed in the phone book, I'll let you know if I make contact.

Thanks for the reminder, I miss seeing what Toshi the model making machine is up to.

It's been a while and I've been concerned, thinking of him.

Maybe somebody is in touch with him via PM or email?
