I am way up in the midwest, but a couple of years ago we had a squadron of F-22s from Langley AFB land here at grissom to ride the storm out. It was pretty neat seeing them go over, But thats about as close as I come to the actual hurricane. I'm kinda wondering if they will be comming back this time, as I have not seen them yet. Who knows...

My sister lives in southern Maryland and as of yesterday, the governor declared the state in State of Emergency. I do know NYS isn’t getting affected by the hurricane.

My daughter lives in Charleston so we’re very concerned about her house. She drove to Florida a few hours ago and is staying with a friend.

I have friends in NC and VA.

Thanks,

I'm in Oregon, but I do hope the best for everyone in the path. Please do everything you can to get far away, this thing may be not as severe as they forecast, or it easily could get worse. Best thoughts and hope your way.

Just close enough to get bucket loads of rain. Hopefully no flooding.

Tojo are you near Greenville SC? My son and family are up there and we were scheduled to fly out today thursday for our grandson's second birthday and were to fly out sunday evening. We did not want to get stuck on sunday since the wife is due back at work monday so we re scheduled for a later date. Sunday is when the the bad weather is projected to make it up there and are supossed to get rain and some 30-40 mph winds but nothing like the coast.

We survived up in the mountains with little or no problems.Only 2-3" of rain, minimal flooding,no winds. Thoughts go out to the hard hit eastern areas of the state, and South Carolina.Hopefully none of our members or families got hit. Thanks for your thoughts

I have been following the storm reports since my son and family are in Greenville up on the extre nw corner of South Carolina.

I feel terrible for all the people affected by the storm and my prayers to those who lost loved ones.

So far it’s been light rain and a little wind where my son is at.  I know the low SC country and western NC got slammed but The Weather Channel has been IMO a bit over dramatic with their reports while standing in pouring rain and gale force winds and showing boards with nails and other debris etc.

I get it, it’s dangerous but that kind of reporting just increases one’s anxiety level. I was calling my son multiple  times to check up on them.

I’ve been experiencing hurricanes in Florida since 1965 so this time of year I don’t like.

Just saw the footage of receding floodwaters leaving loads of freshwater fish stranded on the road ! Hope everyone made it through OK.
