Posted by plasticjunkie on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 8:06 PM

Just noticed only on this site I get a long box asking if i want to open or save tag.js from s.thebrighttag.com? Open, save cancel. I just x it and goes away. What the heck is this?

I've been getting it too. Beats the hell out of me what it is. I don't even want to open it.

The long box seems to appear only when I'm on this site. Never in other sites. So attention, FSM mods - fix to remove the malware pop-up on FSM site.

Don’t open sheep. It looks like some sort of adware from advertisers on this site. Like you said only appears on FSM. I’m afraid to follow any of the removal directions when you google it for fear of downloading a virus from those sites.

Doesn’t appear on my tablet or phone, just my pc.

I'm not that stupid to open such things. LOL!! I agree with the trying to find whatever malware supposed in my computer. In fact, looking in my files, I don't even see anything that is possibly a malware. I'm convinced it's now a FSM problem that needs to be taken care of ASAP!!!! I truely believe something caused the slowdown or crash in FSM.

Just giving you a heads up sheep. I contacted the computer repair place I deal with and he told me that is a script type file and not to download it. I told him about the site crashing and this box appearing right after so there is an excellent chance that the site may have been hacked. My anti virus and malware removal tool is not picking up anything. He said to contact FSM and let them know.

Also contacted FSM customer service and passed down the info. She said the company is being bought by another firm and they were in the process of doing some web site work and may have caused issues.

I'm not surprised it may have originated through website work.

It’s defenetively the web site and the browser. I took my pc to a repair place I deal with to check things out.

The computer tech fired up my pc and went on the site on another computer on Google Chrome and it never came up. Then he went on mine on Explorer and the box popped up. Then he went in his on Explorer and got the box too. He noticed the adds popping up on the side and installed a pop up blocker which got rid of the adds.

Did you say Kalambch/FSM is being purchased? Or is the web site company being sold? If FSM is being sold that is major news right? What is known about this?

I thought I heard the company was being bought out. I didn’t expand on that since my main concern was the script box.

Ran my malware program and picked up a few few issues and erased them. However, it has been a long, long while since I ran the scan though. It didn’t find the brighttag malware. This tells me it’s a FSM website issue, not my PC. Not to mention, I renewed my Norton subscription recently and that didn‘t pick up the brighttag malware alert either. Norton is one THE best anti-virus, anti-malware programs out there. This is an FSM issue, not our PC issue.
