 Believe me the first time I thought about doing that ! Instead I scared the Hades out of a doctor ! I was on the first visit as a new patient .

Glad everything turned out okay! A couple weeks ago, my brother -- who has had three heart attacks -- thought he was having another one. Turns out it wasn't a cardiac event at all but most likely an inflamation of the chest wall. 

As for me, I had my heart attack while at the hospital in the recovery room following placement of a cardiac stent. If you're going to have a heart attack, that's not a bad place to have it.

When my heart failed in combat back in 2010, the only thing that was available to the medic was a Warrior, it's battery and a pair of jump leads!

That's a proper jump start!

It was a hybrid virus of SARS and Bird Flu that got me and the doctors have told me just how bad my heart is and they considered a pacemaker/defibulator joint unit that was being tested but the manufacturers said "No! Not suitable!"

They say that you're not aware of the electric jolts..... Yes you are and it feels like something very heavy has just dropped on to you from a long way up and it does take quite a while to get everything back to normal as your entire body has been disrupted.

Sleep is the body's way of recovering and fixing itself (sadly, the heart is the only thing that it can't fix) so if it needs it just let it have it and you will get back on track.

Don't push things. just listen to what your body tells you.

THe lads that served with me in that firefight and close combat laugh at me and pull my leg at reunions and embelish the story that has everybody crying with laughter.

Doctors are right though..... despite all the tablets, betablockers etc.... Laughter is the best medicine. 

SO, take it easy and have a very small single malt once a week as medication. It will help and turn what happened into the funniest story you can.

Hardware failures are the worst.  Glad you pulled through and here's to a speedy recovery and getting back to the work bench

    Glad your on the mend TB, the forums wouldn't be the same without ya.

    Modern medicine eh, docs always say the cure is worse than the illness however it DOES hopefully beat the alternative.
