Positive news indeed K66, great to hear all is good with you.

My daughter in laws mom lives a few minutes west of Tallahassee and she did ok. Now it’s on the move thru the Carolinas as a TS.  My son and family just moved near Charlotte but the main storm looks like it will stay south of them and will only get some rain and windy conditions.

Sure glad to hear that.  I'd like to see a video of those happy snacky goats!

Thanks,

John

To all well-wishers, thanks for your positive thoughts and any prayers you cared to offer. Our goat dairy is located in northern Gilchrist County, FL (about an hour NW of Gainesville). I've finally stopped holding my breath. We were in the tropical storm warning zone; the county immediately west of us was in the hurricane warning zone. Just can't believe our good luck: minimal rain, certainly no flooding, no tornadoes, no injuries to us or the animals, no property damage, no loss of landline phone or internet service, only lost power and had the big Generac kick in for about 90 minutes. Only real negative aspect is the eighty goats who are all kinds of grumpy after being on barn lockdown all day. Tomorrow they'll enjoy policing the scads of fallen leaves and bushels of acorns. ("Look, look! Snack food has rained down from the sky!") We were EXTREMELY fortunate.

Don't know if we have any members living in the Florida panhandle and in the path of Michael. That storm went from a Cat 2 to a Cat 4 in just a few hours and was 2 mph short of a Cat 5 when it made landfall in the Panama City area. Please stay safe!
