Fortunately my house is just three doors down from some sort of church, so I know where to go for Holy Water if I need it
For the solar eclipse last year, a friend of mine from Wisconsin loaded up his fancy photography gear, and drove all the way to a remote area of Wyoming, where he could see the full total eclipse.
He shot many photos, then, the next day, realized he forgot to take the lens cap off his camera!
DOH!

That seems always to be the way around here in PA. Any time there's going to be some astronomical event, that'd be cool to see, we get socked in with overcast, and rain or snow.

Heading out to the boss’ beachfront home this Sunday to watch. Hope the weather clears by then.
Unfortunately, forecast here is for mostly cloudy. One of these days I need to clean the optics of my telescope. I have one of those eyepiece adapters that fits in the eyepiece holder, but the scope badly needs cleaning. If I get a clear moment I may just shoot with 270 mm and 2x extender.
