The only regs should be same displacement engines, carbs...mandate carb jet size, and the spoilers.  Then let the shops, crews and drivers have at it and tweak to their hearts content.  Who can get the most out of the equipment.

Any cheating and the whole team and car get a 5 race suspension.

That would bring back some competion to it.

I use to love NASCAR but it's just got so boring, It use to be what company could make the best car and fit the best driver now everything has to be exactly the same so many regulations its not fun. Now Rally racing is just as boring due to the same regulations on what a car can do

It has been a very long time since NASCAR raced cars built by a car company.  I would sure like to see it go back to stock car racing.  We wouldn't see 200 mph speeds, but then we wouldn't need restrictor plates or aero packages that equalize the car speeds.

It was a spectacular crash. I was amazed each time they showed. Sparks everywhere.

Boring,...please! It'll be interesting to see their new engine/aero package at Atlanta next week and how it will affect the racing there.

I‘d rather watch Motocross than car races. At least you get to see muddy wipeouts and hot doggers when they cross the finish lines. Plus the race classes aren’t 3-4 hours long.

Those big crashes are inevitable when 40 cars are packed together, going 200 m.p.h., and seperated by inches. What was amazing was that nobody was hurt.

Very rare that a Daytona 500 does not have one or more big ones.  It is symptomatic of restrictor plate racing :-(  Supposedly yesterday's race was supposed to be the last restrictor plate racing.  They are going to change aero package so restictor plate no longer neccesary.

I get so sick and tired of the so-called "Big One." I recorded the race along with the two following 30 minute programs and I still didn't get the end of the race. I guess I'll find out who won when I read the sports page in my morning newspaper.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Well there goes the millions of sponsors' dollars....

I don't watch any type of auto races because they're well... boring.

Is anyone watching the Daytona 500? This was a good race until it turned into the Demolition 500. There was one crash that took out 18 cars! There was even a big crash in Pit Row. Forty cars started, 20 cars remain and the race is under a red flag in an overtime.
