German Armour

Wow. Wonder what's going to replace em'? I guess they finally wore out.

We in Canada are having the same trouble with the CF-18's ours wore out so we bought more worn out ones from Australia to keep the RCAF alive. :(

EF-18G Growler version of the Super Hornet is the replacement. Between the E, F, and G versions of the Super Hornet, most of the Carrier Air Wings out there now have predominantly one airframe type, the Super Hornet. Mr MacNamara’s vision of a universal type is finally a reality.

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

When I hear of such long serving aircraft being retired, it makes me feel really old.  I remember seeing a P-80 fly in 1945 or early 1946.

Looks like the Marines will retire the last of these tomorrow. In service since 1971, not one was ever lost on combat. Last one I saw was at an airshow several years ago. They had a trash can underneath a fluid leak that smelled like fuel!
