Just got back from helping run a model show this weekend in Denver.  The StarFest convention which had William Shatner and Nichelle Nichols among several others as guests.  Very fun.  We had lots of Sci-fi models, some real space vehicles, and several neat Dinosaur models there. ( thanks to Jurassic park).   I just got my pin for having been doing the model shows for 35 years.  Wow.  I remember I used to take my daughter to them back then.  She is  now 39 years old.  Now I can get back to doing tanks and a prop plane models. Life is lots of fun.  I've been retired  for several years now.

Good to hear from you, Maxie.

Glad you are keeping happily busy. That said, your are missed here and I hope you find the time to stop in from time to time.

I do understand about buy ssummers (edit: busy summers. Jeez). For some reason, I tend to hit the bench more in summer than winter. I know I am bass-akwards from most, though. This will be my first summer of actual retirement, so it will be interesting to see what happens with model-building.

Still here. Had the big move from Connecticut to Florida at the beginning of the year. Just starting to get settled model wise. Glad to see you're still lurking

Still lurking about, enjoyed the Mach 1+ Corvette. My bench time is limited as I still work 2.5 hrs from home soon to be 5 12hr day verses 4 12s. I look often however haven't got much to say that others haven't already posted.

Glad to hear your still around Max.

All my working life I had no real vision of retirement; I was fortunate to enjoy work in the various forms it took to keep the lights on. Now that circumstances have aligned to make me pretty much retired, I don't know how I found the time to work. One theory is that it takes so much longer for me to do anything that the same activities take up way more time. Another is that I now have the leisure to do everything extremely well, althought this is not supported by evidence.

I have a whole list of put-off projects including home remodeling, a '65 BMW R-69S rebuild, lots of started and unstarted models, and grandkids. Since my only  preconception of retirement was a vacuum, I'm very glad to find that it's a very busy and rewarding time.

Hope those of you in a similar situation are having a lot of fun!

Life is a whirlwind however you spell it.

I have been really busy at work although I am supposd to be retired, and the boss has wisely set up a list of things to do to set our vegetable operation up for the year. We get all of our green veggies out of our yard. While it seems a little crazy now, I think it will be a lifeline in the near future.

The norton has gone into that 80% complete place where parts drop off about as fast as thy get added.

Hopefully I'll bring it home in May.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Glad to see you're still around.  I'm looking forward to retirement but still have a few years.  Let's see some pics on the bike!

Thanks,

John

Busy times in life and I miss the modeling and all the Gang. Just checking in, not expired although life is dangerous. Many exciting projects going on, many model projects in the stash. I may have over-bought in my enthusiasm. Working on a book as a photographer, still have my teeny land speed record motorcycle project which I'm also behind in. Wow, I thought there would be free time in retirement but I guess not. Why did we waste all that time working? Food and shelter I suppose, seems wasted. Anyway Hi Gang, miss you! Don't give up on me as Winter is modeling time. Carry on. Maxie Geeked
