As someone that has gone thru hurricanes since 1965 here in Florida, this one has been one of the most scariest ones I have gone thru besides Andrew. It's makes your cojones shrink when you see a Cat 5  185 mph beast with gusts of 200+ mph staring at you so close.

Those poor people in the Bahamas have gone thru something I NEVER want to even think about. Having that beast of a hurricane sitting over you for well over 24 hours will drive anyone nuts.

Thank God it's missing us as it heads up north and hopefully stays to our east out in the Atlantic and curving away from the Carolinas. So far the Lord has been on our side as Dorian moves away.

Once you've what you can around the house, break out the solar generator and put it on standby, make sure your drinks are chilled and snacks are ready, prep you favorite weapons (just kidding), and then a start building.  Ih yeah, occasionally spot check the storm updates.

The black cloud...when this is over, you have to go back to work.

Hmmm.

When I was little I had to hunker down during one of those. Remember Hazel? Dad was out of town and they let school out to send the kids home. Eleven years old and had to prep the house. No grown-ups offered to help either. We lost trees and became a boat dock because of the storm surge. Geez! Right next to our front porch!

No one got hurt thankfully, though.

I moved my daughter to Miami last year. I hope she will be okay.

Not too worried. We feel bad for the folks out in the Bahamas. They're taking a real drubbing! Not watching a lot of TV. The news about Dorian is pretty repetitive, so this is how I am whiling away the hours waiting for the storm:

Took this picture about half an hour ago.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

To all my fellow Floridians that are in the path of Dorian. Stay safe and please check in after.  It doesn't look like I'm going to get too much in the SW corner
