I prefer paper but do look at digital at times and do take some on the iPad when traveling - not recently though!! Paper is better for me for reference.

My electronics IPad got confiscated by my grandson.  At 3 he uses it like a pro!  Lol!

Paper, I despise reading magazines or books on the internet. Just not the same and I like my collection of magazines though small it is, it's mine all mine, and not subject to accidental deletion never to be seen again. Plus how esle ya gonna read it while doing the dirty work? Big Smile

I Definately can relate to your insight.  Thank you for sharing!

Hard copy all the way!

I enjoy reading the hard copy magazine when I'm in the bathroom........ I couldn't imagine using an Ipad in the same situation. Gross!

There's a place for both. I prefer reading hard copy magazines and the newspaper, but when I'm away from home it's nice to be able to call up the digital versions. Also, I have 20 years of back issues of my Model A and T magazines on a disc which are searchable and take up minimal space.

That is very sensible, I just received two issues today!

Mixed, one foot in the old,the other modern. It varies for me.

Didn't realize you were asking about FSM, I'm not a subscriber to either format. My answer was regarding books and magazines in general.

Thats ok, it's all good.  To be honest, I haven't picked up a newspaper in years.  It's apps of USA Today, CNN, etc.  Thank you for the input.

Toshi, great to see you posting. Hopefully, the covid has passed?

As a digital subcriber for several years I just recently switched to paper. I thought I might enjoy it more. Now that I did, I kind of regret it. I find that digital is more convenient for me. With my iPad I don't need good room lighting in order to read the magazine. With a paper copy, I do. I will probably switch back.

Covid19 is history, thanks to family.  Wanting to hurry home gave me the strength needed to heal.  One thing I haven't healed yet is I fell in the bathtub and hit my right side ribs. Constant pain, I guess as I get older things take longer to mend.

Thank you for sharing, your input made sense.  I used my phone late at night to read FSM in the dark.  Currently Ezra confiscated my iPad.  But he learns fast.

I have been given access to the digital edition of this magazine due to delays with the delivery of the hard copy, especially to overseas subscribers, owing to the current Coronavirus situation.  This is an excellent example of customer service as it should be - well done FSM, and thank you!  However, I still prefer the paper version, which can be accessed, visually downloaded & saved (i.e. put back on the shelf) regardless of battery state/power supply, internet usage levels, or whether my laptop is working or not.  I do enjoy the fruits of science, but I am aware of how dependent they are on fragile infrastructure.  Or maybe I'm just a stick-in-the-mud...

Stay safe, and happy modelling,

        Hutch.

Not a stick in the mud sir.  I've had the digital issue for 2 seasons or maybe 3.  Greatly enjoyed it, as I mentioned in an earlier post, my grandson Ezra has confiscated my ipad.  Albeit for ABC Mouse.  And he's adapting well.

So going back to a hard copy was a no brainer for me.  I excitedly await my delivery.

Paper.

Good luck with your digital mag when power and the Internet are down.

I guess my FSM Mag is EMP proof too.

No, I was disappointed with the digital version.  My paper magazine copy arrives late next week.

Hard copy all the way. I have them organized by date in magazine racks for easy reference. I prefer books and magazines to digital for the tactile feel and if the power goes out and I can't charge the IPad, I can still read a book or magazine.

Prefer the hard copy.  Easier for the old school guy to deal with.

You know, I yearn to hold a FSM Magazine.  It's been way too long!

I have paper!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”  - John 3:16-17

The day they stop publishing the paper magazine is the day I stop reading it and no longer subscribe.

Dear sir, I must agree with you.  My dilemna is that young master Ezra uses my iPad for his ABC Mouse, a learning tutorial.  So I feel that taking the iPad away to read FSM Magazine is taking away from his learning abilities.

So now the paper magazine makes even more sense to utilize.  I should be receiving my copy via mail later next week!

Paper or Digital issues
Posted by Tosh on Saturday, May 30, 2020 1:52 PM

I am a firm believer in new technology, always intrigued and very curious.  With saying and touting that, I've been a digital reader for two seasons.  Then a glitch.  Can't log in.  It keeps asking for payment when I already made payment.

So I just called to switch from digital to paper.  Maybe Ezra will have an interesting outlook with a paper magazine for a change.

What about everyone else?  Digital or hard copy?
