He was my first baseball hero when I was 11 in 1969 he had a 25-7 record and pitched the Mets to a World Series win.He is the Mets only true Hall of Fame Player.

I was a beleaguered Cubs fan in '69 -- so in that respect, he was no hero at the time -- but I always had the grestest respect for his phenomenal talent...and for the way he carried himself 'off the field,' in real life. By all accounts a true gentleman.

Truly one of the greats. RIP.

Tom Seaver, perhaps the greatest right-hander of the modern baseball era passed away this week at 75. The release mentioned that it was from the effects of his dementia and COVID19.He had stepped out of public life last year because of his dementia and will be missed.

He was my first baseball hero when I was 11 in 1969 he had a 25-7 record and pitched the Mets to a World Series win.He is the Mets only true Hall of Fame Player.
