My wife lost her cousin this morning, to Covid. He and his wife both tested positive, he was symptomatic, she was not. He was terribly ill, ICU for several days, then passed away early this morning.

Retired Contra Costa (sp?) Sheriff, 71 years, recently moved to Eloy, Az, house is on the golf course. As difficult as it makes our lives, isolation is the better choice when dealing with this illness. It is so easily spreadable, and can be the end of life for some.

I'll be 80 on the 16th of Feb, I've been home isolated for months now, I won't venture out until whatever success is achieved with the shots is known. Even then, I'll restrict my time away from home.

I wish the best for all of you, please take good care during this time. This is one deadly disease and must be treated with all seriousness.

Thank you, Bill. This is our second family member to be hit with this illness, Grandniece Olivia had it 1 year ago. 19 years old, was hospitalized for several days, then convelesced a while longer. All better now, thankfully.

Hi Patrick, Was happy to see you posting till I read it. So sorry for your loss, my condolences go out.  I recently turned 65 so my age group was up for vaccinations in my state. I had the first shot on Wednesday and scheduled for the second one on the 10th of next month God willing. Please stay safe.

Sorry for your loss Patrick. Our retirement community has followed all the rules and so far no one has caught the bug. Have done a lot of our usual outdoor get together stuff on "Zoom". A little boring sometimes but it has kept the moral up. We even do line dancing every week on "Zoom". My wife is the teacher.

I'm 80 and have a reduced imune system because of the meds I take since my kidney transplant in '98 and a triple by-pass a few years later. The doc says if it's a live virus shot or a nasal shot I can't have it so I'm being extra careful.

Sorry for your loss. I'm currently at home after testing positive. No symptoms. Waiting for the results from my last retest to see if I'm negative.

Also sorry for your family's loss and we do need to remain vigilant. My sister-in-law in her 60s was in the hospital for a week and then sent home with oxygen partially because they were out of beds at the hospital. She has been on oxygen for about a month now and they are saying likely several more weeks. Other than being overweight she really did not have any other issues and was never a smoker. This is a strange virus for sure.

I had a rona scare earlier this week, with a raging headache that OTC meds couldn't touch, nausea, the runs, body achhes, chills but no fever, fatigue...and my mom tested positive (she and my dad watch the kids during virtual schooling....)

I called the doc on Tuesday, got a test Tuesday afternoon, results came back negative.  Found a rash on my back this morning, and I have been diagnosed with shingles...so now I'm on a generic version of Valtrex for yhe next 7 days.

Let me tell you, the symptoms of shingles are no joke either!
