Shelf augmentation
Posted by keavdog on Monday, March 1, 2021 3:39 PM

I put up shelves a couple years ago and promptly filled them up.  I was poking around online and found these acrylic shelves from the container store and essentially doubled my shelf.  I'll add more as I need.

There were some casualties.... but I can repair

Now to fill them up !

Thanks,

John

Clever.  If something does accidentally fall in the fish tank let it be the shark.

Very nice idea! I know those wood shelves wouldn't dare fall. Nice mounting brackets. I bet those are all going into studs.

We sailing ship modelers are green with envy.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

LOL!

John,

I still love how well the original shelves look, and then adding these clear shelves is pure genius!

Nice use of the pipe stock! It's very useful material. I do lighting work at a small theater, and we use stock like that to make mounts for stage lights, pivots for rotating flats, small moveable platforms, so many uses.

Yes the pipes are in studs - they aren't going anywhere.

I also used a 1" pipe and big beefy flanges to hang clothes on in the laundry room.  Pipe stock is solid and has a cool industrial/rustic vibe.

Thanks,

John

Awsome Keavdog. Incidentally, my Tommy's War Light Horseman arrived today. Stunning kit! If you need any references, just sing out. I have the complete original uniform, accoutrements, rifle and saddle.

Right on!  Great little kit.  I wanted to find an old historex horse to practice on by I can't find them for a decent price.  I would appreciate any reference pics you have - thanks very much!

Thanks,

John

I think I can help with the Historex horse. If I find one do you want me to send it? If yes, PM me with your postal address. As for references I'll get right on it.

Thanks for the offer - I'll poke around for something to practice on.

My new shelves and my strat don't get along :/

This guy jumped of the shelf due to power cords and distortion

Thanks,

John
