Okay Now-Three Cheers

Yes:

I am going to toot my own Horn. And loudly at that!! Why? Wouldn't you know, While I was sleeping, I became a whole Year Older, Yeah Man! A whole 78 of them now, packed under the old Belt.

I have wondered for many years why we called folks like me ancient, back in the day. Now I know, Some mornings I feel like a fossil come to life! ! But Who cares? The Great Creator saw fit to grant me another one. YAY ! YAY!

I also think I will suck down a shot of Jack Daniels, Just one mind you! To celebrate. Straight! I Know this is silly, But there's no family left to toot horns for me. Well, not Flesh and Blood folks, Just an extended family of real life folks and all the folks I know on line. That's it for me.

Imagine, when I was born they had a War going on, Ocean Going, Beat up, Crew owned, Steam Freighters( Tramps) were common( I was born on one). Cars were large, boxy things and could be rolled over, righted and driven away! Airplanes had proper Propellors and Trains huffed down the Tracks Leaving a trail of smoke behind! Oh! and Motoryachts were as pretty as a fine lady dressed for the ball. NOT Pods of Plastic trying to look like Spaceships!

Men tipped their hats to ladies in respect and there were Clubs where men could go and smoke their Cigars. Yeah, It was a man's world. That doesn't mean it was better. It was quieter and more polite. No one talked on the phone while conversing with someone else or Texted either. That didn't exist when I was young, Thank God.

Children were seen and not heard, Cops were respected and the streets were safer! All, not necessarily good things, But, One thing I really miss? Being able to talk to a Date or Friend in a restaurant and hear them respond in a lower than shouting voice. All you could hear was a soft murmur and the tinkle of glasses and silverware that's the way it was. And I had to grow up and Build Models,Oh! My Gosh whatta fate! I love It!!

Two days until 76, and two weeks until I remarry.  Congratulations on making it to 78.  We sure have seen a lot in our day.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.
