I recently treated myself to a 4K movie, which includes a bluray and the digital copy, from my local Wal-Mart. After I get home I slide it out of the cardbord sleeve and remove the shrink wrap. In what should have been a red flag , I noticed the entire side was already open, but didn't think anything of it because I had seem this before and assumed it was just a sealing defect with the shrink wrap.
I open the hard case, and the digital code slip is MIA. Upon closer inspection of the plastic wrap along the side that I assumed was a seal defect, it was actually sliced open because I could see the slightly wavy cut and the score in the case. As far as I can tell, the took the movie off the shelf, carefully sliced the plastic just enough to slide the case out, removed the digital code sheet, reassembled it, and put it back on the shelf.
I will attempt to exchange it for the complete package that I paid for, we'll see how big of a hassle that will be.
So, a word of warning if you pick up any movies over the holiday season, check the packaging to make sure it isn't tampered with!
