Been told ya can't herd cats either.....as a former lead I'm not sure thats just a metaphore.

G, are turkeys really THAT big in Hawaii?  Throwing your back out soesn't sound fun. However it is a great excuse for those akward middleage years when you really can pull your pant up...but don't want to.

 Get well soo RyanBig Smile

God thing you were at home for that.

You guys can have the snow, I've had more than my share of cold and snow from being in Maine, North ande South Dakota and growing up in Jersey.  Water I can handle, been through many a monsoon as well as hurricanes and typhoons.

my statement is always...."you don't have to shovel rain!"

and, not that it has been brought up....I HAVE A MEDICAL XEMPTION FROM SHOVELING MY PROPERTY!  Sorry, wife and son....have fun when it comes!  Lol

Let's see now....... 6 lbs of shovel leaves 4lbs available for snow......sounds like job security until about JulyEmbarrassedBig Smile

So, as for the lifting....it's not bothering me too much (it gets me out of a lot of the household chores...lol), although, I do hope to be able to get back to the gym and the weight training I once enjoyed!  As for lifting car parts, I got off the floor a few years back, as I saw what became of old body,en, I didn't want to become one myself...

the number 2 came all in a rush, but took its dang fine time doing it, at 2 o'clock in the morning yesterday....

Daaaaaang you guys!  I did something to my lower back on Thanksgiving day while cooking and could not bend over for almost a week.  It sucks when you can't pull up yer pants!

Apologies to the young uns out there for the TMI - we geezers, ya see.

Justin-. Went through most of the same limitations after the heart attacks and stents. Three months later they finally got me to 60 lbs.  Of course by then there were two of us mounting Dodge front bumpers, the non bendable type that go a good 200 lbs.  Technically I'm still at 60lbs, cause no one has ever changed it.  Just told me to use my judgement.  Constipation is a usual side effect of surgery.  The late wifemate was a CNA for more years than she would care to admit to.

Best wishes to get back where you were.

So, I'm down for the count and out of work for a bit, having just gotten through an umbilical hernia surgery.  The abs hurt like the devil, and I need to go number two, but it seems afraid to come out....which is adding to the discomfort.

I hope that with the next few weeks off, I will be able to tolerate bench time, after I work through my homework of several hours worth of I-Car classes gets completed....oh yeah, and I can't lift anything over ten pounds for the next 6 weeks....

Yeah, it was coming down in buckets last night, so much so that most people went home early.  The freeway at 6:00 pm was wide open, but I kept it to 50 mph all the way home due to terrible visibility.

I haven't ventured around outside the house yet, but the yard looks nice and freshly washed!  The storm debris must have flowed down the street or something.

Yeah OK we don't get blizzards like on the mainland, so we have to make do with heavy rain.  Hope everyone else has a weather catsatrophe-free holiday season.  Shop early, stay safe, and build models!

Glad you didn't get the blizzard but you sure got a lot of water according to the news pics.

I was curious about those reports of a blizard in HI.  Enjoy your day off and stay dry.

Thanks,

It poured last night here in Hawaii to the point of downtown losing power, so I'm at home instead of work!  Big Smile

Don't worry, despite the hyped-up clickbait on the Internet, the "blizzard" conditions ominously predicted occur only on the high volcano summits on Maui and the Big Island.  But yes it does snow up there and people do snowboard (when there is sufficient snow covering the jagged lava rock).  Manoa got hailstones once, but that was due to a freak temperature inversion.

So without access to the server at the office (plus I don't have a computer at home Big Smile) I took a vacation day!  Gotta do some chores first, but hope to glue some plastic today!
