Yeah, I found out about the Dead Milkmen while watching Beavis and Butthead. I found the video to be a hoot! Plus I liked Butthead's comment about how the girl would eat the guy for lunch.
A good friend of mine went through a rough patch during his adolescence and listened to a lot of punk rock. That's where I got my exposure to the genre. Suicidal Tendency's video to "Institutionalized" was also pretty funny. My friend asked if my mom spray cleaned the leaves on the tree in my front yard. But I drink Coke, not Pepsi.

My classical tastes tend towards modern stuff. To avoid what seems like an oxymoron (modern classical) I call it 20th and 21 classical music, but it starts with the late 19th century Russian group. Love John Williams.

I was actually not listening to anything, so I went to youtube and started playing ELO out of the blue!
Listen to a lot of scores from movies and video games. Such as the original Star Wars Trilogy, The Edge, Pacific Rim, Shadow of the Colossus, Deus Ex and Halo. 80's hair bands get their turn in the mix as well. Though I find I like music without words the most. Seem to get in the modeling groove easier when it's purely instrumental.

Silent Running is a song that is rarely heard these days but considereing things, might not be a bad choice to hear again.
I have a large collection of CDs to listen to with music recorded from records, to cassettes, to 8 track tapes. I even have some WWII libety records my Father saved from destruction back in their day. These pre-recorded shows were played only twice during a 24 hour period and then woiuld be destroyed for whatever reason. Somehow he managed to save about 5 and eventually I found someone with a turntable large enough to play them and make a couple copies.
Some of my favorite music would be the Moody Blues, ABBA, Carpenters, Sinatra, Dean Martin, soundtracks, and 60s/70s music.
I just found a CD that I copied from a cassette that a pilot from the 44th TFS gave after he returned form a exercise in the P.I. called Cope Thunder. It was all the transmissions from one of his engagements during the exercise. It makes for some interesting non classified listening although there can be some extended periods between words and grunting. It can give you some idea of what kind of physical stress they go through.
