Congratulations to both of you on such a successfull outcome for one of the most important and underappreciated jobs there is, parenting. Clearly you both poured your hearts and lives into your kids and it shows in the results.

I hope your wife continues to grow stronger and that you can both enjoy spending more time focusing on each other and things that you enjoy doing. You have clearly earned it!

GMorrison

There's a lot to be proud of for the both of you. In particular the three who came to you. A better life.

How is your wife? I hope she's doing well.

Thanks, Bill. She's doing better, can't drive and still tires easily when we are out and about. We were staining quarter round yesterday and she was having issues outside in the heat. Since I work in a stifling hot factory, it is no big deal to me.

I'm sure my three step kids have a much better life because of me. And proud of the ones that got the STEM degrees. Those are not easy.

The next youngest finished his masters in September, so we will have had almost a full year without a student at U of L since 2014.

Congrats to you (and your wife) Rob! It's a bittersweet feeling, but quite enjoyable for the most part. Sometimes it helps to move away from them if you want to stay an empty nester Wink Just kidding on that.

Sounds like they've done well thus far; that is a testament to your parenting. You can now relax and enjoy life and whatever other dreams you may have. Nice job!!

Well done!  I had three in school at the same time (3 out of 3).  I'm happy to see them grow and move on.  I have all the memories of the fun stuff we did when they were growing up, but now I have a grand daughter and love the free time with my wife.

Thanks,

John

This past month has ended over thirty years of being a parent to a child in school (K-12). My youngest son graduated Summa *** Laude with a 4.0 GPA and one of only four with this honor in his graduating class.

I dropped him off at the Univeristy of Louisville for his orientation. He starts this August in their Computer Engineering program, a master's degree program. His older sister and brother both graduated from the U of L with Bachelors of Science in mathematics. The older son got his MBA there last September.

He was accepted in September during their early admissions program.

We ran across one of his former scout masters. He asked about the kids, and I replied, "They're all gone."

Quite the change from raising six kids down to none. At one time, we had five in school at the same time.
