Needing Recommendations----Photo Hosting----And Warning!
Posted by Tanker-Builder on Thursday, August 4, 2022 11:03 AM

Hi Folks!

Listen to this. As many of you know I tried sometime in the past and got pictures posted. Well, since then that camera was destroyed and the place that destroyed it replaced it as it was definitely determined to have been their fault. I haven't used the replacement to take many pictures because health and computer problems sent me into a mental spiral of total confusion. Taking photos was NOT on my to do list till I was ready.

Well, the place I got the camera was able to download to their printer the whole instruction book for the camera and card functions. So my questions are these . What do ya'll recommend for a Photo Hosting FREE site. Which is the best and how does it compare to others? I am seeking this help because I cannot afford to go to a site that charges a monthly fee. As soon as I have settled on the hosting site I will try, following the Camera's instruction book to upload what I have to start. Then I will do test posts to make sure I am doing it right.

Now, that said the first pictures you are gonna get if I succeed are those that I spoke to Pawel about. The Paper model of a OIL processing vessel under construction. Many may not be interested, but I am going to take photos of the hardware I developed for her so that the Paperish quality is diminished and the Detail construction is first and foremost! When I am comfortable with that I will definitely post more. This may be  a bad situation for ya'll cause you know how I ramble sometime. You will then be exposed to that in Pictures too! So there!! LOL.LOL. Thanks for your patience and input, I'm Waiting!

Well, TB, I'm patiently waiting for your e-mail and as soon as I get the pics, I'll post them to the thread of your liking.

Most cameras that are less than 20 years old let you connect them to a PC with an USB cable, then you can access them like you do with an USB stick (flash drive), then just copy the pics. Some cameras give you specialized software to "manage" your pictures - I didn't like any such software so far.

I can't really recommend any image hosting site - I use the server I rent for this, so in this case I'll be your image hosting site... Maybe I should open my own photo hosting site?

Looking forward to seeing your pics, good luck with getting them and have a nice day

Paweł

Pawel!

Hi, I got distracted from the photo thing. I must ask, Is that the link what I am supposed to use? It came up on an interesting Site for sure. If that's it, You'll be hearing from me soon. Please be patient. I have a "Zip Drive" full of photos that the Seller of this new unit pulled from the old Laptop before it finally died.

No, the picture icon is the rectangular button that has mountains on the left and the sun on the right.  This will open a window with two blanks.  You enter the link URL in the top space.  Forget the bottom blank for now- it is a formatting thing you can worry about later if you want to do fancy things.  Ignoring it will still work fine.

Ditto on postimage.  I'm a complete idiot when it comes to anything technical.  If I can post anybody can post.
