perhaps I don't have the right to complain, as I'm not a subscriber, but those pop-up video ads are REALLY annoying. Not only are they distracting, but they seem to interfere with the browser functionalit.

I hear that paying subscribers have the same issue, so an ad blocker is really the only way to go.  I use Chrome on a PC and have AdBlock installed.  Never any problems with ads using that while on this forum.

I'm a paying subscriber (just signed up a few days ago), and yes, I still see them. I think a paying subscriber should not have to be subjected to them and was hoping an ad free forum came with the subscription. Not. I've been on this forum for maybe a week and this is one of the major reasons I'm ready to walk already. Very annoying ads. Clunky functionality. Third party photo hosting. I'm done. Really, the only reason I joined the forum was to post a build log of my Atlantis 1/8th Phantom of the Opera model build as I didn't feel comfortable posting that on another ship model website I'm on. But I just relecutantly posted that model build on there anyway and have already received multiple likes. I'm just going to stick with my magazine subscription and the other community board.

Cheers,

Mark

Adblocker will take care of most of the ads. The only ones I have popping up annoyingly are on the right hand side of the page. If you enlarge the page, ctrl +, you can cover them up. When you go to another site, just ctrl - to go back to the size you want.

Hope that this helps. I'm a computer dummy and the above is all I know how to do to get rid of ads.Wink

Stay safe.

It's ancient forum software of a dying print magazine. They haven't put any effort or money into it in some time. Expect more of the same. Adblockers are your friend.

Hi,

perhaps I don't have the right to complain, as I'm not a subscriber, but those pop-up video ads are REALLY annoying. Not only are they distracting, but they seem to interfere with the browser functionalit.

Surely there's another way to make to forum financially viable?
