The skipper of Harder was Samuel Dealey. An uncle of his was George Dealey, a newspaper publisher in Dallas TX. George Dealey was active in civic issues including developing Dallas as a planned city and host of international expositions.
He is commemorated with a statue and name of a plaza in downtown Dallas.
